God called Sam S. Mhlanga to the Gospel ministry while he was at college pursuing Business Studies. He later attended Theological College, Universities and Seminaries, and after graduating, he served as pastor in four churches in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

Sam continued his education, earning his Doctorate (Educational leadership) (SBTS) in Louisville, Kentucky, USA; Masters in Educational Administration, Policy Studies and Planning at Open University in Zimbabwe; Masters of Theology (PRST) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA; M.Div. Biblical Counseling (SBTS), Bachelor of Divinity/Education at Africa University, Zimbabwe.

He has served as a professor at Rusitu Bible College and in various roles with the United Baptist Church denomination as the Vice President and Church Administrator. Sam also planted a church in East London in 2005 in Great Britain.

Sam was ordained in 1994 by Baptist Church in Zimbabwe and by St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, in 2013. 

Sam and Judith married in December 10, 1994 and they have four children, four boys and one girl.

They currently live in Kent, Greater Seattle, Washington as church planters and Sam is the Lead Pastor at Bread of Life International Fellowship.
